NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — The 48th annual Country Music Awards were held at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on November 5th, with Miranda Lambert taking home four trophies, including wins for Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Vocalist of the Year. Miranda's win on Wednesday tally up to a total of 11 CMA wins over the course of her career, the most for any female performer.
Luke Bryan won entertainer of the year, beating out George Strait, Blake Shelton and Urban and marking the first time the 38-year-old Bryan has won a CMA Award.
Blake Shelton won the CMA for Best Male Vocalist, the fifth time Shelton has won that accolade.
The event was hosted by returning champions Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, who took the opportunity to jibe President Obama and Taylor Swift in the same joke.
“I’ll be the first to say it: President Obama does not care about Postpartum Taylor Swift Disorder (PPTSD),” Paisley said, referring to Swift's recent switch to pop music.
Performances at this year's Country Music Awards included Ariana Grande performing with Little Big Town, Meghan Trainor performing with Miranda Lambert, a duet with Kacey Musgraves and Loretta Lynn and another with country veterans Eric Church and George Strait.
