CMT: Country Music Television and Clear Channel Entertainment are presenting The Country Freedom Concert October 21 at Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center.
The live, commercial-free music event will pay tribute to the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States and will honor the efforts of the rescue workers who lost their lives trying to save others. Among the confirmed artists are George Strait, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn and Martina McBride. The full artist line-up will be announced shortly.
The concert will be telecast live by CMT Canada. Westwood One will provide the concert's radio feed to stations worldwide.
All proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army's disaster relief efforts. In addition to all ticket proceeds, designated toll-free phone lines and web sites have been established for viewer and listener contributions.
