Darus Named President Of Kirtland Records

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Dave Darus has been named President of Kirtland Records and will be based in their newly created offices in Los Angeles. A twenty-year label veteran, Darus spent the past few years with Spivak Entertainment helping develop their cutting edge roster. He brings his respected expertise in promotion, marketing, and artist management to Kirtland. The Kirtland Records catalog includes all four platinum-selling Bush titles as well as the recently released soundtrack to the #1 box office hit film “Hide and Seek.”

Kirtland Records Chairman, CEO John Kirtland, who named Darus President of the label, says, “I am very excited about working with Darus. His knowledge and experience will be instrumental in bringing Kirtland Records to the next level, developing our roster and working catalog acquisitions.”

Darus commented, “I’ve known John [Kirtland] for a long time and I’m very excited to represent his entertainment group. We will be putting together an artist friendly environment resembling the 360 degree business models that are currently working well for a handful of innovative labels. I'm also looking forward to be working with the fresh independent thinkers at Red Distribution and Red Ink.”

“Kirtland Records’ roster includes both the Burden Brothers (with ‘Shadow’) and The Vanished (with ‘Favorite Scar’) who have current tracks at radio with Top 5 callout research in Top 10 markets; we are looking forward to spreading that success at the rock formats.”

Darus added, “This is the second time I’ve worked with Todd [a.k.a.Vaden] from the Burden Brothers. As lead singer of the Toadies, his signature vocals on ‘Possum Kingdom’ are still working for Alternative and Active rock radio. I’m eager to break acts in today’s changing environment in the record industry and am pleased to be a part of it with Kirtland Records.”
