Don McLean Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge

CAMDEN, Maine (CelebrityAccess) — Singer-songwriter Don McLean was arrested early Monday morning and charged with domestic violence.

According to the Bangor Daily News, the 70-year-old musician was arrested shortly after 2 A.M. when police responded to a 911 call at his Camden home.

McLean was held for several hours at the Knox County Jail in Rockland before he was released on $10,000 unsecured bail, the Daily News said.

McLean is scheduled for his initial court appearance on the charge in Rockland on Feb. 22nd.

Camden police declined to release information about the victim of the alleged crime but in order to be charged under the domestic violence statutes, the incident must have involved a household member or domestic partner. McLean's wife, Patrisha, is a photographer who regularly exhibits her work.
