Drake Joins Rally Against Oil Spill

WASHINGTON DC (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — As part of the ongoing "Green the Block" campaign, the Toronto rapper joined a rally at Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 Club to speak out against the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

"Everywhere you turn, pollution and poverty are hurting our communities," Drake said at the event according to RTT News. "We can change that. Going green is the solution. I'm green on my tour, I am greenin' block and you can too. It's easier than you think."

Drake's debut LP, Thank Me Later, is set to drop this week. In a recent interview with the New York Times, the rapper revealed that one of the tracks from his new album was actually inspired by a brief romance with Rihanna.

"[Rihanna] was doing exactly what I've done to so many women throughout my life, which is show them quality time, then disappear," he said. "I was like, 'Wow, this feels terrible.'" –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
