NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Bob Dylan's latest release "Together Through Life" has opened on the top of the Billboard 200 this week, marking the 5th time the troubadour has debuted an album at #1.
"Together Through Life" sold more than 125,000 units for the week ending May 3rd while facing competition from Hannah Montana's movie soundtrack at #2 and Rascall Flatts at #3 with "Unstoppable" Billboard reported. Lada Gaga trended upwards from #7 to #5 and the soundtrack to the movie "Twilight" hung on at #6. Taylor Swift's "Fearless" managed to claw its way back to #9 after having slipped to #11 last week.
Dylan's 2006 effort, "Modern Times" debuted at #1 as well, but showed stronger numbers with 192,000 in first-week sales, bolstered by an iTunes/iPod television ad that featured Dylan singing one of the singles from the album. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
