LONDON (Hypebot) – EMI Music Publishing has signed a global deal with writer and producer Mike Elizondo. Elizondo has written for artists as diverse as Eminem, Natasha Bedingfield, Eric Clapton and Gwen Stefani and was this year nominated for the Producer of the Year Grammy for his work on Maroon 5’s "It Won’t Be Soon Before Long".
The deal will see EMI Music Publishing represent and market only new songs. But Elizondo has recently been in the studio working with Eminem on his new album, as well as teaming up with Sheryl Crow on her forthcoming album, Detours.
He has also co-written and produced 2 songs on Natasha Bedingfield’s sophomore album Pocketful of Sunshine including the U.K. single ‘Say It Again’, co-written with Bedingfield and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine. Elizondo has a song on the current Blake Lewis record, and has been writing with Esmee Denters, the first signing to Justin Timberlake’s Tennman label. All of these songs will be administered by EMI Music Publishing.
