UNIONDALE, NY (CelebrityAccess) — After more than 100 years, the famous Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is heading into the last few days ahead of their final show, which will take place on May 21st at Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.
Feld announced late last year that the storied traveling circus would be shuttering for good, a victim of public opposition to the use of animals in live performances, combined with changing public tastes for entertainment.
The circus has been operating under its current name since 1919 when the Ringling Brothers merged Barnum & Bailey Ltd. with their own circus. The brothers acquired Barnum & Bailey Ltd. following Bailey's death in 1906, but operated the two circuses independently.
If you can't make it to the final performance, but want to see the circus one last time before it slips into the pages of history, Feld announced that they will live stream the entire final performance on Facebook Live.
The video will be left online for a short time after the performance.
