DUBLIN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Pop superstar George Michael has been forced to cancel tonight’s scheduled concert at Dublin’s RDS, after an equipment truck crashed while driving from Bucharest to Prague last weekend.
The singer also cancelled his planned performance in Prague.
A spokesman for Michael said that part of a large podium from the stage set-up was trapped on the damaged truck, and “it was not possible to replace it,” according to the BBC.
Michael, who is currently on his “25 Live” tour, told reporters that he was “profoundly saddened” by the cancellations.
Promoters said that temporary repairs allowed last night’s Dublin show to proceed, but tonight’s had been postponed so the remainder of the tourdates can proceed as planned. The singer is scheduled to perform at Wembley Stadium on June 8. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
