Global Spectrum Tapped To Operate KC Wizards New Stadium

KANSAS CITY (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Kansas City Wizards have pacted with Global Spectrum to manage and operate the team’s new 18,500-seat future home, slated to open in June 2011.

Global Spectrum will handle management, marketing and operations at the $160 million venue, which is currently under construction at The Legends in Village West in Kansas City, Kansas. Global Spectrum will also be handling non-sports booking for concerts and live entertainment events at the stadium.

In keeping with team policy, terms of the management contract were not released.

"Global Spectrum has an outstanding reputation for managing high-performance facilities throughout North America," said Robb Heineman, Kansas City Wizards President and CEO of OnGoal. "As we prepare to open the most dynamic stadium in North America, we felt it was necessary to hire the best firm to manage and operate our stadium. We look forward to working closely with Global Spectrum in making our new stadium the premiere facility of its kind in the United States, and a must-play venue in the Kansas City region." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
