LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Selena Gomez pulled a pair of Chinese dates, with some sources suggesting it may be due to her past association with the Dalai Lama.
Gomez had previously announced a pair of dates in China as a part of her Revival Tour, with shows scheduled for Guangzhou and Shanghai on August 6th and 8th respectively, but they have now been pulled from her website.
Britain's Daily Mirror reported that the cancellation was due to Gomez meeting with the Dalai Lama in Canada in 2014, with a photo of the event showing a seated Selena looking upwards and smiling at the Tibetan leader as she stands behind her.
The Dalai Lama is a politically contentious figure for China after he fled to India and established a Tibetan government in exile.
At press time, represenatives for Gomez did not respond to a request for comment. – Staff Writers
