There is a renaissance of sorts going on in Harlem these days especially with former President Clinton opening an office on 125th Street. But over at the Renaissance Bar and Jazz Lounge a mile north on West 145th Street between Convent and Amsterdam Avenues, there has been a jazz rebirth as well.
The restaurant is set to open in August in a refurbished brownstone. On July 27, Wynton Marsalis jammed for about three hours and said he would come back and do it again. He did — the next night.
The Renaissance Bar and Jazz Lounge is already on the list of one of the hot spots in Harlem.
