Innovative Artists Recants On Health Benefits Cut

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — After a bold move to cut the the health benefits of about 70 non-agent staffers, Scott Harris, president of Innovative Artists has seemingly backed away from his plan, telling employees that they would be covered under Cobra until a new permanent program could be put into place, Variety reported.

As previously reported in CelebrityAccess, Harris had formulated the unpopular benefits cut as a cost-saving measure but the proposal, announced last week, was met with anger by the affected employees.

Variety is reporting that several sources in the company reported that both the contract and non-contract employees were against the plan. A planned "sick-out" was poorly attended but solicitations of employees by competing firms and drooping employee morale were contributors to Harris' reconsideration of the plan.

"People are happy that we won a small battle, and hopefully things will continue to get better. We know it was a big step for him to do this. And now there won't be a boycott on bagel day." a source inside the company told Variety. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
