Ken Levitan To Receive AMA Lifetime Achievement Award

NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Industry vet Ken Levitan has been selected to receive the Jack Emerson Lifetime Achievement Award for an Executive at the Americana Music Association's 8th Annual Honors and Awards ceremony, slated for Thursday, September 17 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Levitan is the founder and current Co-President of Vector Management and has been involved in the careers of numerous major artists, including Lyle Lovett, Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, John Hiatt, Buddy Miller and The Kings of Leon to name a few. He is also a Grammy Award-winning producer, recognized for his work on The Apostle soundtrack.

Vector Management's current roster includes Lyle Lovett, Emmylou Harris, Kid Rock, Kings of Leon, Hank Williams Jr., Bon Jovi, B-52s, Ben Folds, John Hiatt, Michael McDonald, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Trisha Yearwood, Peter Frampton, Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley, Buddy Miller and Patty Griffin.

Levitan got his first taste of the music industry when, as a Vanderbilt undergrad, he served as chairman of the Vanderbilt Concert committee–the budding coalition which also spawned Gaylord Entertainment GM Steve Buchanan, Live Nation concerts' heavyweight Ted Mankin and the namesake of the award, Jack Emerson.

The awards show is set to take place at the 10th Annual Americana Festival and Conference on September 17th at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium. The conference is set to run from September 16-19 at the Nashville Convention Center. In addition to numerous seminars, panels and networking opportunties, more than 80 showcases by Americana artists will be held at key venues throughout Nashville. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
