LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Label veteran Kevin Weaver has been promoted to the newly created position of President, Film & Television, for the Atlantic Records Group.
Based out of the label's Los Angeles offices, Weaver will oversee the creation and promotion of the label's music across other media platforms — including film, television, and video games — as well as being responsible for developing and overseeing soundtrack projects, strategic alliances, media placements, licensing opportunities, and marketing initiatives, the company said.
The promotion also includes an expansion of Weaver's five-year-old music publishing co-venture with Atlantic Records and Warner/Chappell Music, signing and developing new writers and producers with a focus on creating new songs for film and television spots.
Weaver will also hold on to his previous post of Executive Vice President, Atlantic Records Group, a role he has held since 2009. Weaver first joined the Atlantic Records team in 1994, his first job in the industry.
"Over the past two decades, Kevin has evolved into an invaluable member of the Atlantic team and one of the most accomplished executives in our business," said Atlantic Records Group Chairman/CEO Craig Kallman and Chairman/COO Julie Greenwald. "He has played an instrumental role in seeking out innovative opportunities for our artists and expanding the reach of their music, while forging exceptional relationships with the film and TV communities. Our mission is to provide the highest level of services to our artists, and Kevin's new post is a richly deserved acknowledgment of the great work he has done to help us realize that goal."
