NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Industrial rock performer Marilyn Manson has been hospitalized after a large piece of stage set fell on him during his concert in New York on Saturday night.
Manson, whose real name is Brian Johnson, was injured while performing at the Hammerstein ballroom when two large guns props supported by a piece of scaffolding toppled over onto him, pinning him to the stage. In a video of the incident, Manson appeared to try to climb the scaffolding and instead pulled the scaffold over, causing it land on him.
Twitter users in attendance at the concert reported that Manson lay on the stage for fifteen minutes before he was removed via a stretcher.
He was taken to hospital but it was not yet known how serious, or what the nature of his injuries was.
A representative for Manson Rolling Stone magazine: “Manson suffered an injury towards the end of his incredible NYC show. He is being treated at a local hospital.”
Manson's next scheduled performance is Monday night at the House of Blues in Boston.
