GUADALAJARA, Mexico (CelebrityAccess) — Grammy-nominated Mexican norteno singer-songwriter Gerardo Ortiz has been arrested by Federal Police on June 16th at the Guadalajara Airport in Mexico, in connection with a violent music video with alleged connections to the drug trade.
Billboard reported that Ortiz was charged with “criminal exaltation” for the video for his single "Fuiste mía", which shows Ortiz playing the role of a drug lord, and murdering his cheating mistress and her lover.
As well, multiple sources reported that the video may have been shot in a house connected to drug trafficking.
The video generated more than 30 million views on Vevo before it was finally taken down and drew fire from numerous sources, including a formal protest from the Mexican government billboard said. – Staff Writers
