Music Choice, the music television network that nationally
distributes non-stop music channels, exclusive music shows and concerts to homes and businesses through digital cable and satellite television, has released the results from a quantitative and qualitative phone survey conducted by Arbitron. The survey includes feedback from DIRECTV and digital cable homes with access to the Music Choice Television Network.
The survey confirmed an overall satisfaction rate for the Music Choice Network of 95%. The results are in-line with previous studies that have found that almost all of Music Choice viewers are pleased with the music programming, and exclusive music shows and concerts that are offered to over 34 million digital cable and DIRECTV customers.
The research results confirmed that over 90% of Music Choice viewers felt that Music Choice played the new music they were most interested in hearing. "We are pleased to hear that our ongoing programming initiatives, including soliciting feedback from our viewers, have been rewarded with an extraordinary satisfaction level," stated Damon Williams, senior director of Programming for Music Choice.
Over 85% of Music Choice viewers found the on-screen content interesting. Music Choice focuses on timely artist news, such as tour dates and new releases, as well as thorough, substantiated biographical information for almost all of the artists played on the Music Choice channels. Additional on-screen content includes song, album and artist name for the song being played, as well as highly targeted ads that do not interrupt the music.
The Arbitron Study also indicated that almost 70% of respondents are more likely to listen to Music Choice at home than radio. This statistic verifies that Music Choice viewers have integrated the music service into their at-home entertainment.
"Music Choice is delighted with the Arbitron survey results," said David Del Beccaro, president and CEO of Music Choice. "They clearly indicate the high satisfaction level with, and increased awareness of, the Music Choice Television Network. We credit these findings to our continuing commitment to provide our viewers with the music programming that appeals to their individual interests. With the national launch of My Music Choice later this year, Music Choice furthers this pledge by delivering a personalized music service for its viewers." –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
