MusicNet, Sony Enter Deal

MusicNet, a leading digital music company, has entered into an agreement with Sony Music Entertainment (SME), where SME will make recordings available from its catalog of recordings on a non-exclusive basis to MusicNet subscribers. The music will be offered to consumers through MusicNet's distribution partners, which now include AOL and RealNetworks.

Under terms of the agreement, SME will make titles from artists including Miles Davis, Dixie Chicks, Celine Dion, Incubus, Jennifer Lopez, and Bruce Springsteen available to MusicNet to be incorporated into the service, allowing for streaming, downloading, burning and portability options.

Alan McGlade, CEO of MusicNet stated: "This is a significant milestone as we gear up with our distribution partners for our first broad consumer launches. Sony Music Entertainment boasts some of the world's best known-artists and most importantly, for music fans, this means that we can offer a deep selection of the songs they love."

"Making our artists' music available on as many legitimate online music services as possible is a top priority for Sony Music Entertainment," commented Michele Anthony, executive vice president, Sony Music Entertainment. "We're very pleased to announce this agreement, and we look forward to working with MusicNet."
