On Thursday, May 22, concert fans filled The Palace to enjoy Kanye West with Rihanna, N.E.R.D. and Lupe Fiasco while, a few miles up I-75, Tim McGraw with Jason Aldean and Halfway to Hazard sold out DTE Energy Music Theatre. The following night, on Friday, May 23, early season favorite Eddie Money filled DTE Energy Music Theatre with classic rock hits for a capacity crowd.
Sports fans were treated to the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday, May 24 and Memorial Day Monday, May 26 as the Detroit Pistons took on the Boston Celtics in two sold out contests.
The upcoming summer forecast looks just as sunny for concert-goers with shows by such big-name performers as Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers with Steve Winwood at The Palace on May 31, James Taylor and His Band of Legends at Meadow Brook Music Festival on June 4, Dave Matthews Band at DTE Energy Music Theatre on June 9, Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band at DTE Energy Music Theatre on June 10 and the True Colors Tour featuring Cyndi Lauper, Rosie O’Donnell, The B-52s, Tegan & Sara, The Cliks, The White Tie Affair, hosted by Carson Kressley at DTE Energy Music Theatre on June 11.
