Posh Sues Promoter For Poorly Planned Parties

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Posh Nightclub in Ferndale, Michigan, is suing promoter Vernard Bonner of Phoenix, after claiming he owes more than $28,000 from four parties he planned for Super Bowl week that did not live up to expectations.

Bonner promised the club parties hosted by Magic Johnson, fashion heiress Gemma Gucci, and a “Playaz Ball” with self-styled pimp Bishop Don Magic Juan, according to the Detroit Free Press, for which tickets sold for between $60 and $200.

Instead, the club owners faced a small turnout, Magic Johnson demanding the $9,000 owed him before entering, and a fraud claiming to be Gucci. Former NFL running back Eddie George was supposed to DJ one event, but never showed either.

Bonner told the paper that he didn’t let anyone down, and delivered everything promised.

“I don’t owe him a dime,” Bonner said. “Everything we agreed on he was paid in full, in cash.” He claimes that Posh vice president Aubrey Tobin is simply trying to pry more money out of him.

“He’s trying to use the media to get some money out of me,” Bonner told the Free Press, adding that he heard no complaints at the events.

Tobin alleges that the promoter misled the club about how many customers he could deliver and which celebrities would appear. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
