HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The opening of the Prairie Creek Amphitheater in Hoffman Estates has been pushed back until the 2009 concert season, the Daily Herald has reported.
The shed was slated to open for Memorial day weekend, this year to replace the old Poplar Creek Music Theater, which shut down in 1995.
Jam Productions, which will operate the 10,000 seat shed has reportedly run into some roadblocks while trying to get the various regulatory bodies in the village where the facility is located, to sign off.
Representatives from Jam productions listened to complaints by local residents concerned about excessive noise at a recent public meeting that they held to assuage concerns. Jam has also changed to design of, including the facing of the stage and the amount of roof over the venue in hopes to reduce noise.
The next hurdle for the promoter will be the Planning, Building and Zoning Commission meeting on Jan. 22. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
