SHANGHAI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Shanghai-based promoter China West Entertainment has announced that they are suspending operations, citing an inability to "maintain a profitable bottom line."
The company has promoted shows by Norah Jones, The Black eyed Peas, Ziggy Marley, James Blunt and Kanye West among others.
CEO of China West Entertainment, American promoter Steve Sybesma opened its doors in 2004 as a way to bring western acts to the Eastern part of the world.
China West also served as an entertainment coordinator for the 2007 Special Olympics opening ceremony, and was recently involved with the Kylie Minogue Shanghai Concert.
"My experience with China West and in China has not only been rich and rewarding, but also another unforgettable and exciting chapter of my life," said China West CEO Steve Sybesma in a statement. "Most of all, I have enjoyed living and working in Shanghai during the past five years, and being able to witness the amazing transformation of one of the world's major cities.
