ROTHBURY, MI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The String Cheese Incident and Dutch DJ Tiësto will top the bill at the inaugural Electric Forest at the Double JJ Resort in Rothbury, Michigan on June 30 through July 3, 2011.
Rothbury was home to the Rothbury Music Festival in previous years, pulling in acts such as Bob Dylan and Damian Marley. However, the festival was put on hiatus and now has morphed into 2011's inaugural Electric Forest.
In addition to the headliners, on the bill are Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Stephen Marley, Kaskade, Shpongle Presents The Shpongletron Experience, Galactic, Railroad Earth, JJ Grey & Mofro, Skrillex, Excision, The New Deal, EOTO, and Emmitt-Nershi Band among others.
Electric Forest will also introduce the festival’s first annual Saturday Afternoon Special – a mid-festival event within the event – featuring REO Speedwagon.
Electric Forest's Double JJ Resort in Rothbury, Michigan offers trails, forests, fields, lakes and beach fronts, on-site lodging, bars and eateries.
Electric Forest patrons can take advantage of the resort’s amenities including a 60,000 square foot indoor water park, an 18-hole championship golf course, swimming pools, and horseback riding among other things.
As festival producer Jeremy Stein of Madison House Presents explained, “Our goal is to seamlessly integrate music with art, and we are proud to host a conscious and involved festival community at such an amazing festival site. The site’s Sherwood Forest will be bigger and better than ever.”
