Seatwave Pacts With Grand Union

LONDON, (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — European ticketing exchange Seatwave has announced a partnership with Grand Union Management to become their official ticket reseller.

Grand Union's roster includes a respectable selection of artists including The Enemy, Seasick Steve, Reverend and The Makers, Mongrel and Boy Kill Boy among others.

The agreement will allow concert-goers to pick up tickets purchased through Seatwave's website at the venue box office on the day of the gig. According to Seatwave, this will afford fans a greater level of security in buying tickets from the secondary market.

The deal would also appear to be an effort to counter growing concerns among UK lawmakers that the secondary ticket market needs regulation. Lawmakers have recently proposed the creation of a scheme that would collect a fee from each ticket sold on the secondary market to be used to reimburse artists.

"We are delighted to be working with Grand Union Management to bring transparency to the industry and ultimately a better service for fans. This partnership marks the first step in our approach to helping to resolve the challenges that face our industry." said Joe Cohen, Founder and CEO of Seatwave. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
