SONY BMG Music Entertainment Sets Its International Management Team


(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Sony BMG Music Entertainment has set its new Sony BMG management group for the company's operations in territories outside the U.S. which will be overseen by the following executives, all of who will report to Michael Smellie, COO Sony BMG Music Entertainment:

Tim Bowen, Sony BMG U.K./Canada/Australia/New Zealand/South Africa;
Richard Denekamp, Sony BMG Asia;
Maarten Steinkamp, Sony BMG Continental Europe; and
Frank Welzer, Sony BMG Latin.

Bowen most recently served as chairman and CEO, BMG U.K. and Ireland since early 2002, a position he assumed shortly after joining BMG as COO for BMG Europe; Denekamp served as president, Asia, for Sony Music International (SMI) since 1997, having previously served as SVP for the region; Steinkamp most recently served as president, International for BMG, since early 2003. In this role he oversaw operations in more than 30 territories around the world including Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, and U.S. Latin; and Welzer most recently served as chairman & CEO, Latin America, Sony Music International (SMI) since 2002. In this role he oversaw Sony Music Norte, a Latin music division encompassing the United States, Mexico and Central America as well as Sony Music companies in South America, and the Caribbean.
