BYRON BAY, NSW (CelebrityAccess) — While many Australian festivals have been struggling with ticket sales, the three day Splendour in the Grass is not one of them, with the event completely sold out shortly after going on sale.
According to the Syndey Morning Herald, three day passes, single day and camping tickets for the music festival sold out in just an hour after going on sale on Thursday.
Splendour's lineup for 2016 features The Cure, The Strokes, Sigur Ros, Hermitude, Violent Soho, Matt Corby and Boy and Bear.
However, the ticket sale process was not without issues and many users reported running into glitches or crashes with the festival's ticket vendor Moshtix's website. Some users reported being stuck in a 'Green Room' waiting queue for hours on the ticketing service, while others reported the system crashed during the purchase.
"Due to the massive interest in this event you will have to hang back here for a bit," a message from Moshtix told would-be ticket purchasers.
"Moshtix its 50 minutes since Splendour tix opening, some of us have work/uni commitments and can't stare at a virtual green room indefinitely. Can you please get on fb, get the dets of those simply trying to buy the tickets at the time you said they would be on sale and make sure there are tickets for us to buy!" one users, Henry Peters, wrote on the company's Facebook page. – Staff Writers
