Stones Cancel Melbourne Show

MELBOURNE, Australia (CelebrityAccess) — The Rolling Stones have canceled a date on their Australian tour, citing a throat infection for frontman Mick Jagger.

"He is under strict doctor’s orders to rest his vocal chords for the next few days in order to recuperate for the remainder of the tour,” Frontier Touring Company said in a statement about the cancellation.

The group had been set to play at Hanging Rock near Melbourne on November 8th. Their next scheduled show is in Sydney on Wednesday November 12th.

A post on the band's website said: “The Rolling Stones are incredibly disappointed to cancel the Hanging Rock gig and to disappoint their fans but were left with no other option.”

The Stones are in Australia on a makeup tour after their previous planned trip to the Pacific region was postponed in the wake of Mick Jagger's longtime girlfriend L'Wren Scott in March. – Staff Writers
