The Living End Take Four Jack Awards


SYDNEY, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Rock outfit The Living End was named best live band at the third annual Jack Awards held in Sydney, Australia.

The band also took the crown for best male performer for frontman Chris Cheney, best drummer for Andy Strachan, and best live TV appearance, according to The Age.

The awards are based on public voting via the internet and text messages, with nominees for each category compiled by a panel of industry insiders, publicists, journalists and tour promoters.

The awards covered 12 categories garnering more than 120,000 votes.

Live performances at the awards show came from Faker, End of Fashion, Grinspoon, The Mess Hall and Wolfmother.

The night also featured a tribute to former Rose Tattoo guitarist Pete Wells, who died in March after a long fight with cancer.

Other award winners include Sarah Blasko as best female performer, Grinspoon’s Pat Davern as best guitarist, Wolfmother’s Chris Ross as best bassist, Faker as best newcomer, James Bellisini for best tour artwork, Tony Mott for best rock photographer, and Michael Chugg was awarded the Gentleman Jack award. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
