(CelebrityAccess News Service) – The best music of the classic British and American psychedelic scenes becomes one this summer when a series of concerts featuring the first-ever merger of the cosmic repertoires of Pink Floyd and the Grateful Dead becomes a sonic assault of the senses known as The Machine Presents Dead Floyd.
Collaborating with a rotating coterie of the jamband scene's best musicians, America's premier Pink Floyd interpreter, The Machine, has expanded its band to include all-star pals drummer Matt Abts (Gov't Mule, Blue Floyd), guitarist Jeff Pevar (CPR, Phil & Friends), keyboardist Johnny Neel (Allman Brothers, Blue Floyd) and saxophonist Norbert Stachel (Roger Waters Band) for a one-time-only East Coast theater tour. The tour kicks off July 18 at the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA and ends 10 days later at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA.
This spring The Machine sold out the Westbury Music Fair in Westbury, NY, The Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA, The Metropol in Pittsburgh, PA, and the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA. Last fall, the band played and sold out six nights at BB King's in New York City in 2002.
DiscLive (www.disclive.com), in a partnership with The Machine, will be on hand at all shows between July 22-27 to offer fans the first opportunity to purchase CDs of The Machine Presents Dead Floyd shows this summer.
