MUMBAI, India (CelebrityAccess) — Three electronic music events being produced under the Mad Decent Block Party moniker have been canceled.
The events, which were to have been headlined by Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, Nucleya among others were due to take place in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi on March 3rd, 4th, and 5th respectively.
While an official reason for the cancellations was vague, with regional promoter Oji stating that canceled the event because they were unable to execute the event as they had envisioned.
A source close to Oji clarified the situation, telling Radio & Music that Oj had trouble securing major sponsors for the event beyond Budweiser and Channel V India.
The Mad Decent Block Party originally began in Philadelphia, in Diplo's backyard, as a free party. Since then it has grown into a series of successful pop and electronic music events held primarily in the U.S. – Staff Writers
