CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Ticketing giant Ticketmaster has filed suit against an insurance company alleging that the firm wrongfully refused to cover Ticketmaster's legal defense expenses in a class action lawsuit.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Ticketmaster sued Illinois Union Insurance Co, alleging breach of contract over more than $4 million on legal defense fees related to a 2003 lawsuit filed against Ticketmaster over alleged fee overcharging.
In the current lawsuit, Ticketmaster claims that their $10-million policy with the Chicago-based insurance company should have provided coverage for their legal expenses. Illinois Union Insurance asserts that they denied Ticketmaster's claim because the lawsuit brought against Ticketmaster was over money to which the company was not legally entitled.
