Tom Jones Cancels Asian Tour

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Crooner Tom Jones has been forced to pull out of his planned tour Asia due to illness.

In a post on Jones' website, the singer cited a "serious illness in his immediate family" as the reason for the cancellation.

Jones was lined up for 6 shows in the region, including dates in Seoul, Bangkok, Tokyo, Osaka and Hong Kong. As well, Jones canceled a date in the United Arab Emirates.

In the post, Jones apologized to his fans and event organizers. His next scheduled appearance is June 8 at Hampton Court in London.

While Jones' announcement did not specify who in his family had fallen ill, the singer was candid about his wife Linda's declining health in an interview late last year, described her battles with depression, and other disorders as well as physical infirmities such as emphysema.
