Triple Play For PS&E

AUBURN HILLS, MI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — August 15, 2010 is going down in the history books for Palace Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) as it became only the second date in its 22-year plus years to have hosted three sold out concerts on the same date at each of its venues.

The Palace enjoyed a capacity crowd for teen sensation Justin Bieber, while local favorite Kid Rock posted his third consecutive sold out show at DTE Energy Music Theatre, and alternative rock band Paramore headlined at Meadow Brook Music Festival in front of a full house.

Kid Rock’s three nights of capacity crowds highlighted the exceptional weekend and pushed his total to 21 overall sellouts at PS&E venues which earned him his own personalized courtside Detroit Pistons seats and an updated arena banner hanging in The Palace rafters.

The only previous date in PS&E history featuring sellouts at all three venues was August 23, 1997 when Rage Against the Machine filled The Palace, INXS headlined the sold out “Planetfest 1997” at DTE Energy Music Theatre (then known as Pine Knob), and Sheryl Crow with Wilco entertained a full house at Meadow Brook Music Festival.

PS&E ownership includes The Palace and DTE Energy Music Theatre, as well as the management of Meadow Brook Music Festival on the campus of Oakland University. Combined, PS&E’s Michigan venues average 300 events and 3.5 million guests annually. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
