(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — U2 paid tribute to John Lennon on the eve of the 25th anniversary of his death, by covering both Beatles and solo Lennon songs at their show at the Hartford Civic Center on December 7th.
The band covered the Beatles classic “Norwegian Wood,” as well as Lennon’s “Instant Karma!” in their encore. They have been performing the latter regularly since playing it with Patti Smith at New York’s Madison Square Garden on November 21st.
Bono also sang a verse from the Beatles’ “Help!” during their set closer “One.”
The U2 tour continues today with a show at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
