UMG Relaunches Polygram Entertainment

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Universal Music Group has relaunched Polygram Entertainment, a film and television company that focuses on producing scripted and unscripted content as well as documentaries focused on music.

Polygram is based in Santa Monica and led by David Blackman, UMG’s Head of Film & Television Development and Production. Blackman reports to UMG Executive Vie President Michele Anthony and Universal Music Publishing Group Chairman and CEO Jody Gerson.

The company will work closely with UMG’s labels, Universal Music Publishing Group and other Vivendi companies, as well as Hollywood studios, networks, digital outlets and media partners.

The first production in Polygram's pipeline will be The Story of Motown, a documentary about the cultural impact of the record label, produced with the participation of Motown founder Berry Gordy.

Polygram is also co-producing Mystify, a documentary about the life of the late INXS singer Michael Hutchence.
