NEW LONDON, CT (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Legendary Connecticut-based rockers The Reducers will be forever captured by the silver screen with the release of filmmaker Bill Dumas’ new documentary, “The Reducers — America's Best Unsigned Band.”
The world premiere screenings took place at 7:30 and 10 p.m. on Friday, September 1st, in the Palmer Auditorium at Connecticut College, New London. The event took place one day before the band’s annual free Labor Day weekend performance at the city’s Ocean Beach Park.
The screening included a Q&A with the director as well as the band, made up of original founders Hugh Birdsall and Peter Detmold (guitars and vocals), Tom Trombley (drums), and Steve Kaika (bass and vocals), as well as a special 10-minute screening of live footage from their hugely successful 2004 Japan Tour.
Both showings were packed and received raucous ovations at the end of and during parts of the film — by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
