CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — My Morning Jacket has scrapped two Chicago concerts scheduled for October 9 & 10 due to the injuries sustained by Jim James earlier in the week.
As previously reported in CelebrityAccess, James fell off the stage during a performance on Tuesday in Iowa City, suffering injuries to his torso. The singer was treated and subsequently released from the hospital but apparently he's still on the mend.
"We were finishing up the last few bars of 'Off The Record,' and just like any other night we were all having a great time," the band said. "Jim went to get closer to the audience on his side of the stage, and as he moved forward to step onto the sub-woofer the lights darkened, and he inadvertently stepped off the stage."
Also going by the boards are a pair of solo performances by James including a gig in Louisville next Wednesday at an Obama benefit. No rescheduled dates have been announced as of yet.
"Per the doctor's orders, Jim will be off the road and recovering from his injuries for the next two to three weeks. Sadly, we must postpone the two shows in Chicago on Thursday and Friday until further notice." the band noted on their website. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
