The list of announced enhancements to the venue include include modifying and remodeling the main concourse level, an overhaul of Club West as well as a refresh of all of the suites. In addition, 16 suites are being removed on the 300 level of the venue to make way for a new full-service, open-air lounge that looks out over the court.

The renovations are projected to cost between $13 million to $15 million and will be funded without public investment by PS&E the company says. This will mark the largest enhancement at the Palace since the 2006 addition of the $30 millon-dollar, 65,000 square-foot Comcast Pavilion was completed.

First opened in 1988, the 22,000 capacity arena currently serves as home to the NBA team The Detroit Pistons and has concerts by Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Emeli Sande, Linkin Park, Rush, and Peter Gabriel among others, scheduled for later this year.
