INDIO, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A Los Angeles man has been arrested and accused of raping woman during the Stagecoach Country Music Festival.
According to the Desert Sun, Darin Ledale Garrett, 45, of Los Angeles was working as a parking lot attendant and was helping the 23-year-old victim to find her car in an overflow parking lot when the attack allegedly occurred.
Garrett reportedly fled the scene when other people noticed the assault under way. Indio police later tracked Garrett to his hotel room, based on eyewitness statements.
Prosecutors have filed three felony charges against Garrett, including rape, penetration by a foreign object and oral copulation by force. Garrett remains in jail with a $100,000 bond and has pleaded not guilty to the charges. His next court date is on May 13th.
Overall, police reported that 43 people were arrested on Saturday and 45 on Sunday with a majority of offenses being alcohol-related along with some assault and trespassing charges. Coachella, the previous weekend saw 79 arrests. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
