TULSA, OK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Nebraska State Fair is looking for a new manager, after Executive Director Rick Bjorklund resigned after only 15 months at the helm to take a similar position with the Tulsa State Fair.
Bjorklund said the Nebraska State Fair made “great strides” while he was in charge, and said he particularly proud of the board and the staff, but Tulsa is a step up in his career, according to Omaha’s KETV-7.
Annual fair attendance in Tulsa is about 900,000 compared to Nebraska’s 2005 total of about 263,000. Bjorklund’s Oklahoma staff and budget will be nearly three times as large as in Nebraska.
Bjorklund’s former assistant, Joe McDermott will step in as interim director until a replacement is found. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
