RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico (CelebrityAccess) Brandi Carlile has announced she has put together an all-girl festival in Mexico called “Girls Just Wanna Weekend,” a four-day event to take place at the Hard Rock Hotel in the Riviera Maya Jan. 30 to Feb. 3, 2019.
Details of the event are sparse, with just a splash screen on the event’s website, with details and the presale “coming soon.”
“Girls Just Wanna Weekend is something I’m really proud of,” Carlile wrote on her own website. “These past few years I’ve really been noticing the exclusion of women at the top of mainstream festival lineups. This is a weekend holiday in Mexico celebrating women in rock and roll.”
The Riviera Maya is on a stretch of the Caribbean coastline on Mexico’s northeastern Yucatan Peninsula and is known for all-inclusive resorts, especially those in the city of Playa del Carmen.
