LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Rihanna apparently wasn’t the only performer to be approached to be the headliner for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, with Pink reportedly also being courted.
Rihanna turned down the performance in solidarity with the political stance of former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, but Pink’s story has more to do with negotiations, according to Entertainment Tonight.
The NFL approached both Rihanna and Pink, according to a source. This one does not mention the Kaepernick concern but, rather, both ere approached to perform at halftime early on “but because the negotiations took so long, both women decided to move on,” according to ET Online.
That apparently left Maroon 5, with a source leaking that the band would be playing at the high-profile event Feb. 3.
