(CelebrityAccess) — Neil Young and Crazy Horse are preparing for the release of their first new album in almost a decade.
The new album, Colorado, is set for release in October, with the lead single “Rainbow of Colors,” likely to land sometime this month and which a post on the Neil Young Archive describes as an exercise in “ragged glory.”
Colorado will be the first new material for Crazy Horse since the release of 2012’s Psychedelic Pill.
Along with the new album, Young and company are also planning the release of a documentary “Mountaintop Sessions” about the making of the album. Directed by C.K. Vollick, the film is on of about fifteen music-oriented projects that Young is currently working on at the moment.
“I don’t think a film about this subject with the openness and intensity we have captured has ever been seen,” the post on NYA said, noting that the film will open in about 200 theaters on the same week in October as the album release.
