LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) — Pioneering country music legend Dwight Yoakam will be the latest artist to join the Las Vegas residency club when he debuts a six-night stand in Sin City.
The residency, An Evening with Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beat, will take place from Dec. 4 through Dec. 14th at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas.
The show will feature Yoakam performing a variety of the music that influenced and created the “Bakersfield” and “California Country-Rock” genres of country music from its early beginnings to its modern commercial reality, as well as sharing insights and stories from his own career.
This showcase will expand on the concept that Yoakam brought to his self-curated SiriusXM channel, Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beat.
Yoakam, who has been nominated for 21 Grammy Awards, has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide over the course of his career.
Yoakam is a recipient of the Americana Music Association’s Artist of the Year Award, and this fall he will be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in the Songwriter/Artist category at the 49th Anniversary Gala on Oct. 14, 2019.
