BIRMINGHAM, UK (CelebrityAccess) – Rapper Krept was the victim of a knife attack that took place backstage at a BBC Radio 1Xtra show over the weekend.
The live event at Arena Birmingham was halted late on Saturday night after the incident occurred.
According to police, the 29-year-old rapper who is one half of the duo Krept and Konan, “sustained a slash wound,” however, onsite medical staff attended to the injury, and no hospital treatment was needed.
Following the event’s cancellation, The BBC issued a statement saying: “Following an isolated serious incident, we have had to stop 1Xtra Live in Birmingham. We are co-operating fully with the police to establish what has happened. We’re sorry to everyone who attended 1Xtra Live in Birmingham for the early finish; however, the health and safety of everyone involved is always our top priority. We are upset and saddened that something like this should happen to a guest at one of our events and we remain in close contact and continue to offer our full support.”
Krept and Konan were not on the bill for Saturday event, however, Wizkid, Ms Banks and French Montana were among those due to perform later in the night.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
