(vip-booking) – Goldenvoice, the California-based music promoter behind Coachella and a subsidiary of AEG Presents, has named Lea Swanson as Vice President of Talent.
In her new role, Swanson will oversee bookings as the sole talent buyer for the Mountain Winery in Saratoga and contribute to talent buying for major Los Angeles venues, including the Peacock Theater, Shrine Auditorium, Greek Theatre, and Dolby Theatre. She will also handle one-off shows in markets such as Irvine, Ontario, Bakersfield, Fresno, and Hawaii.
Swanson, who has been with AEG Presents for over 17 years, will remain based in San Diego and report to Goldenvoice Chief Operating Officer Melissa Ormond.
“It is exciting to be offered an opportunity to continue to grow this far into my career. After over 17 years with AEG Presents in my home market of San Diego and supporting numerous casino clients, I feel fortunate to be in the right place at the right time to step into this elevated role,” said Swanson,
“A year after accepting the lead booking role at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, having the chance to grow and promote shows in one of the primary music markets in North America was an opportunity I had to take. I’m enthusiastic about what’s ahead and look forward to contributing to the continued success in all our markets.”
Added Ormond: “Lea’s track record speaks for itself. Her breadth of experience, combined with her innate ability to know what will resonate with audiences across a variety of different venues and genres, make her uniquely qualified for this position. I’m thrilled to elevate Lea to this new role, and I’m looking forward to working even more closely with her.”
Swanson began her career in 1999 at Viejas Casino and has since built a reputation for her expertise in talent buying and venue management. Over the years, she has booked concerts for venues ranging from small clubs to major arenas, working with key accounts like Pechanga Resort Casino and San Manuel Casino (now Yaamava’).
In 2023, she led booking efforts at the Mountain Winery, delivering one of its most successful seasons with 78 shows and events. Swanson’s appointment highlights Goldenvoice’s continued influence in the live music industry, which also includes promoting events like Stagecoach, Desert Trip, and over 1,600 concerts annually across North America.
