ALBANY, Calif. (CelebrityAccess) A man who has pleaded guilty to defrauding Eastern European concert promoters has been sentenced to 24 months in prison.

Quincy Krashna, 50, pleaded guilty March 6 to highly exaggerating his connection to the Red Hot Chili Peppers in an effort to sell the band to the promoters. Krashna admitted he secured a down payment of $450,000 but did not put it in an escrow account, according to the USA Herald.

Krashna admitted in his plea agreement that he used a fraudulent escrow document that looked like an agreement used by Chase Bank, but did not set up the account and instead put the down payment in a personal account and continued to inform the promoters their money was in the nonexistent escrow account.

A federal jury indicted Krashna in January 2012 and charged him with seven counts of wire fraud according to USA Herald. Krashna pleaded guilty to one count and the rest were dismissed.
