LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Just in time for Halloween, Marvel's arcane adventure opened big internationally, ahead of its American debut next week.

Produced by Walt Disney Studios, with Benedict Cumberbatch cast in the titular role as Stephen Strange, the film earned a comfortable $86.0M worldwide on its opening weekend according to estimates published by comScore.

Tom Hanks clung tenaciously to the #2 spot for a second week in a row with his revisit of the character Robert Langdon in Inferno, adding an estimated $44m to the movie's cumaltive earnigns.

20th Century Fox's hirsuite animated adventure Trolls took the #3 spot with $30m and isn't set to open domestically until Nov. 4th.
