AGENCY & MANAGEMENT NEWS: John Mayer Signs With WMA & Mark Dinerstein Joins Entourage Talent Associates

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter John Mayer has signed with David Wirtschafter, the president and agent at the William Morris Agency, for representation. Samantha Kirby and Marc Geiger handle the day-to-day.

Mayer had previously worked with Scott Clayton at Creative Artists Agency for national representation.

Rumor in the industry is that the first meeting between Mayer and Wirtschafter was set up by John's hair stylist, a friend of Wirtschafter, at the Halloween weekend Vegoose music festival in Las Vegas. No word on whether the stylist tip equaled the standard finder's fee.

The acoustic crooner extraordinaire, known for hits such as “Your Body Is A Wonderland” and “Daughters,” has recently wowed many new audiences with multiple live and studio collaborations with blues legend Buddy Guy, and appearing on the new release by iconic rapper Common.

The bluesy pop singer/guitarist appeared in many Hurricane Katrina relief shows over the past two months, and recently wrapped up a fall tour on which he was joined in the John Mayer Trio by drummer Steve Jordan and Bassist Pino Palladino. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers

Mark Dinerstein Joins Entourage Talent Associates

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Former PACE Concerts regional talent buyer Mark Dinerstein has joined New York-based Entourage Talent Associates as an agent.

"At Entourage, I have two functions," Dinerstein told CelebrityAccess. "First, I am an agent representing their roster, which includes Derek Trucks Band, Joe Satriani, G3, and The Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular, to name a few. In addition, I also work with corporate sponsors to purchase talent and consult on concert production, marketing, and touring."

Dinerstein got his start in the business by working concerts in college at Tulane University in New Orleans. In 2002, he moved to Houston, where he joined the CCE-owned PACE Concerts. While in Texas, he helped start The Meridian night club, and served as the principal GM during its conception and as the exclusive talent buyer. Following it's opening in 2004, it has been an enormous success.

Not content with a single full-time job, Dinerstein also recently signed up-and-coming singer/songwriter Brandon Stanley to a management contract.
